A dog named faith.

For all the pet lovers who may stop here.

The following will be more than worth the time to stop and see. You just might get an uplift from this pictures, even if you are not a pet lover.

Political Recess (?)

Here is a little humor in the middle of all this political news.

I hope you get a smile from, “Uncle Jay explains a political recess.”

The real time to have FAITH

I attended the funeral of my good friend’s mother yesterday.

Another friend Pastor Ray Brown made a comment as he was talking that I had never thought of before. “The time to have faith is at this time in this place. Yes, we need faith in the sick room. Yes, we need faith as we are praying with people in the alter. But at this point of time, If we have hope of Christ in this life only we are of all men most miserable.”

When the time comes that we are committing the body of a loved one, who has lived for and served Jesus, into the ground. That is when we need to take hold of the faith of the resurrection. I had never really stopped my busy day or mind to weigh or consider this thought before. YES! The real time to have faith is at the time when our loved ones have departed this world.

A preyer request.

As you pass this way, I would ask that you call the name of a dear friend in prayer.
Pastor Leon Frost lost his mother over the weekend, and this morning he lost an older sister. With deep sadness, to my knowledge his sister did not know our Lord.
I would ask you to call my friends name at your time of devotion. Pastor Frost will preach his mothers going home service Thursday.
The next few days will be a time of deep stress and sadness for my friend.

But He dose.

Today was one of the darkest days to those eleven men who hide in fear. They had been the witnesses of the death of the One they had invested three years of their lives into. They had followed Him to and fro and upon the stormy seas, they followed Him. Now, He is laying in that tomb down there in the garden.
They had no one to give them the words of hope. Tomorrow makes three days. He said three days. Come on my breathers lets put faith in His promise of the third day.
Always try or do the best you can to wait for the next day. You have no idea, what a day will bring.

BUT HE DOSE!

The Great Hope

We are almost at the time of the greatest event in history, the day that God in Christ gave to us the great hope. Us, we who are bound to/in this thing we call flesh, a door of hope beyond the bonds of this flesh.
Jesus is the only, “great teacher,” who has no grave to go to and visit. The immortal words, “He is not here He is risen.” Give to me a hope beyond this flesh.
Let us spend some time reflecting on what does the resurrection really mean to me.

Doubt ? ?

I was listening to Dennis Prayger on the radio this morning. He posed a real question or thought.

Did God create doubt?

Your thoughts please:

The Senator's speech?

I am sure most of his either heard or listened as some else related the speech of Senator Obama this morning.

How do you feel or thing he did?

I am interested in your thoughts and or feeling about not just the man but his words.

Anne Sullivan & Helen Keller (The question)

I have read the encounter of these two women several times in my life. But today let me ask you this question.

Would we have the great writings of Helen Keller if Anne Sullivan had not seen something in that small blind child? How much the world of literature would be shorted by not having Helen Keller? We would not have the wonderful story of motivation for people of all walks of life to read and see how the worst in life can be over come.

I have stopped more than once in my life with the probing question. Have I stepped over another Helen Keller? Was there someone placed in my path for me to reach out the hand of help and that person forever change the world? Was there a beggar placed at my door and I failed, because of hast of life or a moment of unconcern, and I stepped over another Helen Keller? Did I miss the wounded man lying by the side of the road that could become one of the greatest preachers of our time, just because something about him did not meet my criteria?

Oh Lord Jesus, help Mervi become more aware of those in need of help, that are within my reach!

It is just a tie.

Sunday morning at the Clark’s.

I have picked the sport coat and slacks I plan to ware today. It was hung on the door and my wife had laid out a tie, I have that male curse COLOR BLINDNESS. I stood for a moment and looked at the tie. My mind went back a number of years; I was standing outside out church talking with a Pastor who was preaching that weekend for us. “Man I really like that tie.” My friend pulled it loses and said here take it and remember me. That I did this morning as I picked up the tie and started to tie it, I wonder how my friend is doing. Jesus bless his services today, Lord give him wisdom and understanding as he passes through this day and Master touch his wife and children also. Just a few moments ago I walked down the hall to pickup my laptop. In the mirror I saw that tie. Lord, touch my friend this afternoon; let Your love move through his family and congregation this day.

I really enjoy this man, his style of preaching, his kind words, his burden for God and His kingdom and his willingness to be a friend in return.

The best Jesus has for you my friend!

Elections (?)

Presidential Elections

What a thought of terror! How does one decide who or which political party to support, if not with money, then with effort or my one vote? I have spent some time in thought about who Mervi will cast his one solitaire ballot for. I try not to look at the letter following the name as much as how, I personally feel he/she they will support the policies that are important to me.
NO! I have not reached that decision as I write these words. Yet, there are something’s that I am very positive of.
One, I have no plan to vote for someone whose plan is to try and remove the struggles from life. Yes, I plan to keep on doing the best I can in and with the problems of life. To quote a radio personality, I have no desire to be protected, “from the cradle to the grave.”
Two, there are those in political office who believe that to elevate the tax load will bring an end to this, and all, recessions. I would much rather spend my money, then the government. A government that would like to take what I, earn by the sweet of my face or my brain and give it to someone who is under privileged. Less privileged by whose benchmark? How would they, the goverment, take it? By the good old law of taxation.
Three, how about giving everyone healthcare? With a very few, an extremely small percentile of people are not able to get their medical needs taken care of. Or should I use the words, “Health Insurance.” Is there a difference? YES! Just take the time to consider the two questions. Healthcare or Health Insurance?

Just the wonderings of my old brain;

Shane Champlain

I did not know Shane Champlain personally, in my memory banks I meet him several years ago at his grand-father-in-laws. He was just getting started in plumbing.

His wife is the one that was close to me. I knew her mother in diapers, I saw her in diapers and then watcher her grow into a wonderful young lady. Her Grand parents were great friend to myself and my departed wife.

I went to the going home service of Shane's because of a thing we do not hear much of any more, loyalty to a friend. I have not lived in Bakersfield or attended church there for over fifteen, will make it six-teen years.

How do you put a date or time frame on friendship. Is there a exportation date some where? When does the warranty called friendship end? At least on this side of the vale of sorrow. Shandie's grand-parents were such good friends to my departed wife and myself. Stories that we still laugh at. But a friend.

They are in my prayers this day.

The grand-son-in-law of A GOOD FRIEND!

I don't know if you have heard of a young man named Shane Champlain in Bakersfield, Ca. He fought a good fight but his enemy was a brain cancer. Yes, Friday he lost the battle in this world. He did win his crown and entered into the place of pain free rest.

He's going away service is this Wed. I would ask you to remember his wife and young children during this time.

Baptist and the global warming (?)

This news article caught me a little off center.

Here is the link to the news story;

Now for my question.
Should a religious organization get involved in something like the global warming fray??

Anne Sullivan & Helen Keller

Which one was the greatest?
Which one had the great affect?
This 1888 photo released by the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston shows Helen Keller when she was eight years old, left, holding hands with her teacher, Anne Sullivan, during a summer vacation to Brewster, Mass., on Cape Cod. A staff member at the society discovered the photograph in a large photography collection recently donated to the society. (AP photo/Courtesy of the Thaxter P. Spencer Collection, R.
