As Mervi passes this way, is just a way for Mervi to express his thoughts. Some religious, some political and others just a thought about this thing we call life.
The two students each received $50,000, and two family members who filed the suits on their behalf received $25,000 apiece .... Title VI prohibits allowing a racially hostile educational environment in schools and programs receiving federal financial assistance and provides for a private cause of action for violations....
Both students were African-American, and so was most of the elementary school's student body, according to [the students' lawyer, Lawrence C.] Kobrovsky....
[The younger student] claimed she suffered emotional trauma because she was subjected to racial and sexual slurs at ... elementary school ... Despite complaints, school administrative staff and district officials allowed the abuse to "escalate to the point where [she] was physically threatened, assaulted and battered," the suit alleged.
"You have a culture where to act like you want to do well in school is considered acting white. And that is part of why we're saying that it was racial, even though the students were all of the same race because they weren't acting how the others thought they should be acting as members of that race," Kobrovsky said....
Two black students attending a mostly black school complain of being harassed for "acting white" and sue under the anti-discrimination code?
MOSCOW - Russia’s space chief said Wednesday that a spacecraft may be dispatched to shift an asteroid's course and reduce the chances of Earth impact, even though U.S. experts say such a scenario is unlikely.
Anatoly Perminov, the head of Russia's Federal Space Agency, told Golos Rossii (Voice of Russia) radio that officials would hold a meeting soon to assess a mission to the asteroid Apophis. He said his agency might eventually invite NASA, the European Space Agency, the Chinese space agency and others to join the project.
When the 270-meter (885-foot) asteroid was first discovered in 2004, astronomers estimated its chances of smashing into Earth in its first flyby, in 2029, at 1 in 37 Source, MSN News
RIO DE JANEIRO — A 2-year-old boy with more than 40 sewing needles stuck in him is being airlifted to another hospital in northeastern Brazil because two of the needles are close to his heart, an official said Thursday. A police official, meanwhile, told The Associated Press the boy's stepfather had been arrested, that he had confessed to sticking the needles into the boy with the help of a woman and that authorities were investigating whether black magic was involved.
This time of year we list or call as the closing of one year and the opening of a new year. New paths, new feelings, new oportunities, old problems in a new setting. So much will be new and changed. Why? For one point we will all have moved little by little down the path of life. Some sunny days, so partly sunny days, some cloudy days and then some days of an all out down right down pour! Yet, there is one thing that has not nor will not change. Because He stands both in eternity and by my side. Just my thought as we prepare to start 2010; Mervi
Without reluctance, Flesh and blood His substance, He took the form of man, Revealed the hidden plan, O glorious myst’ry Sacrifice of Calv’ry, And now I know Thou art the great “I Am.”
What condescension, Bringing us redemption; That in the dead of night, Not one faint hope in sight, God, gracious, tender, Laid aside His splendor, Stooping to woo, to win, to save my soul.
Down from His glory, Ever living story, My God and Savior came, And Jesus was His Name. Born in a manger, To His own a stranger, A Man of sorrows, tears and agony.

Constitutional Contempt
"At Speaker Nancy Pelosi's Oct. 29th press conference, a CNS News reporter asked, "Madam Speaker, where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to enact an individual health insurance mandate?" Speaker Pelosi responded, "Are you serious? Are you serious?" The reporter said, "Yes, yes, I am." Not responding further, Pelosi shook her head and took a question from another reporter. Later on, Pelosi's press spokesman Nadeam Elshami told CNSNews.com about its question regarding constitutional authority mandating that individual Americans buy health insurance. "You can put this on the record. That is not a serious question. That is not a serious question."
Just a little about Mervi. I am over the hill (66), male, I enjoy people and the odd things we do. The different points of Religion, politics and the news.
