I have found the reason for the wonderful drop in the price of a gallon of gas!

"Since July this year, crude oil prices have fallen from $147 to $64 a barrel. Similarly, average gasoline prices have fallen from over $4 to a national average of $2.69 a gallon. When crude oil and gasoline were reaching their historical highs, Congress and other wackoeconomists blamed it on greedy oil company CEOs in their lust for obscene profits. But what explains today's lower prices? The only answer, consistent with wackonomic theory, is easy: Oil company CEOs have lost their lust for obscene profits. Or, maybe, since many of these CEOs are getting up in years, they might have begun to heed Matthew's warning (19:24), "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."

This the location of this wonderful economics explanation;

Something a little lighter today.

One night a burglar broke into a home.
“Jesus is watching,” said a voice. He stood very still.
Once more he heard, “Jesus is watching.”
As he walked into the den area he saw a large Parrot in his cage.
“Jesus is watching,” was all the parrot would say.
The burglar was about to laugh, as he asked the parrot,
“What is you name?”
“Theophilus,” was the parrot’s replay.
The burglar, by this time was about ready to crack up laughing.
When he asked to parrot, “Who would give a parrot a name like that?”

The same one who would name a ROTTWEILER Jesus!”

Redistribution of wealth

A friend sent this to me in an e-mail. I thought it has a good point, so I will pass it along.

"In a local restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference--just imagine the coincidence. When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful. At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application."

Mr. Obama and somthing to think about.

Look at just a few of the things he and congressional Democrats have in mind: Higher taxes on successful entrepreneurs (anyone earning over $250,000), higher taxes on capital gains, higher taxes on dividends, a possible raid on Americans' 401(k)s, a takeover of America's private health care industry, strict new limits on what CEOs can make, and the reimposition of the death tax.
Add it up, and Obama will usher in a new era in America — one where capital, the engine of our economic growth and success, is punished severely through the tax code. If Democrats win a filibuster-proof majority in Congress, it'll be the only form of capital punishment their party will support.

From a Black Republican.

I copied the following from "Black Republican."

"I am very concerned that black Americans are caught up in the fact that Sen. Barack Obama is black and will be voting for the type of person who does nothing to honor or truly help his race. In stead of helping blacks, Obama will actually continue to take actions that hold black Americans away from the true "American Dream." Obama's actions will keep blacks reliant, dependent, and trapped in bogus governmental conundrums created by these failed government programs and policies.
I have seen it many times. Why stand up when the government punishes you and makes it harder for you to get off of these programs, get an education, and get a job? Punishment for success creates this void, this vortex of self-defeat and government reliance. Obama is devoted to the elite in America and throws everyone else "under the bus" when it comes to housing, and many other important factors facing Americans today. He has blind devotion to his inner circle of corrupt, manipulating, socialist, and criminal elitist friends who have paid his way and put him where he is today. Obama's dishonorable means of acquiring his position does not provide a good example for anyone, particularly black people. Corruption, lies, fraud, crime, political favors, manipulation, and ultimately servitude to powerful people with money are not the hallmarks of a man of character, integrity, and respect. By his actions and corrupt associations, Obama has dishonored all Americans!
Meanwhile, Obama preaches that he can save the world. In reality, he is full of deceit and blatant disrespect for average Americans and everything we hold dear. It is sickening. Sadly, I know many black Americans who are going to vote for Obama, not because they have done their homework about the man's character or his policies, but simply because he is a black man. I hear many black people saying "we as black Americans have fought and come so far." It is very disheartening because these same black Americans will vote for the very people, like Obama, who will truly damage their cause and the rights for which they have fought and are fighting for today.
There are many people of different races who find themselves caught in this debacle, and the numbers are growing. They turn a blind eye to the Democrats' approach to economic situations, that amounts to being anti-business, anti-energy, pro-big government and pro-increase in taxes. The tax-and-spend policies of Democrats create even higher unemployment, less business development, less job creation, less domestic development of energy, and a socialist strangle hold on our economy that will lead to the type of economic decline from which we may never recover. We as Americans, black and white, must wake up before we go too far down the dark road of socialism, so far down that hard road of economic disaster that there will be no corrective action we can take that would put us back into the type of free-enterprise system that has made this country great!

Ravenhill (2)

The man who can get believers to pray would under God,
usher in the greatest revival that the world has ever known.
There is no fault in God. He is able.
God “is able to do . . according to the power that worketh is us.”
God’s problem today is not Communism, nor yet Romanism,
nor Liberalism, nor Modernism.
God’s problem is --- dead fundamentalism!

Ravenhill (1)

I have started rereading a book which I have read numerous times, yet I still enjoy. This book is, “Why Revival Tarries,” by Leonard Ravenhill. From Chapter one, “The tragedy of this late hour is that we have too many dead men in the pulpits giving out too many dead sermons to too many dead people.” “A sermon born in the head reaches the head; a sermon born in the heart reaches the heart.”
The reason I enjoy this book? Self evaluation, Mr. Ravenhill causes Mervi to take a hard look at Mervi. With the hard fact of why, how, for how long and for what reason do I pray?

Have a good prayer time;

Mr. Obama & Mr. Powell (??)

Colin Powell Endorses Obama
Former Bush administration official is the most prominent Republican to endorse the Democrat.

Military Won't FollowPowell to Obama
Planet War The political general has already lost his bond with the military.

I was at the Bakersfield Business Conference about eight years ago, just to hear Mr. Powell’s presentation. Man, was it worth the time, he more than filled the hugh tent where the main speakers were at. His speech lasted about fourty minutes after which he took some questions and gave his answerer. He covered the economy, the military, the political spectrum and thing the crowed asked he answered. The crowd applauded him into the next speaker’s time.
After hearing Mr. Powell I have said sence that I would vote for Mr. Powell in any political office, because I like the answeres he had given. NO LONGER can I support Mr. Powell! I do not understand nor can I grasp what has caused Mr. Powell to become involved with Mr. Obama. The only answer that I can come up with is the point that the speech and the answers Mr. Powell gave in Bakersfield was his playing to the crowed.
I am saddened this day.

The above headlines were copied form the Washington Times On-Line addition.

Virginia (4)

Just a quick update on Virginia.

It has been three weeks since her stroke and she is doing better each and every day. Her range of motion keeps improving. Her strength, nerve or feeling and response are still improving. She is both doing well and her body is responding very well to the physical therapy. She has taken a FEW steps without the aid of her walker, scares me, but she is doing fine.

A deep heart felt thanks to all those who have carried her before our Lord on arms of love.

First Graders Taken to San Francisco City Hall For Gay Wedding

First Graders Taken to San Francisco City Hall For Gay Wedding

SAN FRANCISCO, October 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- In the same week that the No on 8 campaign launched an ad that labeled as "lies" claims that same-sex marriage would be taught in schools to young children, a first grade class took a school-sponsored trip to a gay wedding. Eighteen first graders traveled to San Francisco City Hall Friday for the wedding of their teacher and her lesbian partner, The San Francisco Chronicle reported. The school sponsored the trip for the students, ages 5 and 6, taking them away from their studies for the same-sex wedding. According to the Yes on 8 campaign, the public school field trip demonstrates that the California Supreme Court's decision to legal same-sex marriage has real consequences.

Yes, I did see this article in a San Francisco paper Saturday as I was eating breakfast. Yes, it did get under my skin!!

Tone down the rhetoric

Posted October 11, 2008 8:38 AM
by Jill Zuckman
PHILADELPHIA -- Barnstorming to get out the vote across this pivotal Pennsylvania city, Barack Obama paused Saturday to thank John McCain.
"I want to acknowledge that Senator McCain tried to tone down the rhetoric at his town hall meeting yesterday," Obama said, referring to a raucous gathering where voters urged McCain to get tough on Obama. "I appreciated his reminder that we can disagree while still being respectful of each other."
And Obama also noted that McCain served the country with honor "and deserves our thanks for that." McCain is a decorated Vietnam veteran who was held as a prisoner of war in Hanoi for five and a half years.
Voters at McCain's town hall meetings and rallies have gotten increasingly riled up, demanding that McCain go after Obama harder. One person said he was scared of Obama and another called Obama an Arab terrorist yesterday. McCain told them that Obama is a decent family man and that he just disagreed with him.
"I want everyone to be respectul," McCain told the crowd yesterday in Minnesota. "And let's make sure we are because that's the way politics is done in America."

Update on Virginia.

We had our first session with physical therapy and they were very encouraged. Because she had already been able to improve her range of motion with both her arm and leg. They gave her a great report on being able to get everything back. Even with the loss of strength they felt that both her sense of feeling and strength would return to her arm and leg. Virginia is left hand dominate, she is concerned about her writing ability. Their comment is that the sensatory part is the last to come back, however with the great improvement she has made without therapy this should return also.

We ask that you continue to keep her in your prayers.

Thank you all those who have called her name in prayer,

Mervi

A Bible Question ?

1Sa 28:13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. (14) And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself. (15) And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.

Now for an old question, what did the woman and Saul see?

Was it really the tired old prophet?

A congaed spirit?

Just one of my weird Bible thoughts;

One more on the "Bail out?"

A MINORITY VIEW
BY WALTER E. WILLIAMS
RELEASE: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2008, AND THEREAFTER

Lessons From the Bailout

" In my more cynical moments, I think that we Americans deserve what we get from our politicians, many of whom can be generally described as nothing less than loathsome. You say, "Williams, that's a pretty heavy putdown." My question to you is how else would you describe these congressmen who are now blaming the financial mess on the failure of the free market? Starting with the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977, that was given more teeth during the Clinton administration, Congress started intimidating banks and other financial institutions into making loans, so-called subprime loans, to high-risk homebuyers and businesses. The carrot offered was that these high-risk loans would be purchased by the government-sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Anyone with an ounce of brains would have known that this was a prescription for disaster but there was a congressional chorus of denial."

Virginia (2)

We are seeing a very discernible improvement in my love. She is moving her left leg with a greater and greater range of motion. She also has found she can us the left leg for some balance as well. She still has weakness in both her body and spirit. We are seeing improvement in these areas everyday. She did make it to the after service Sunday morning.
We would ask that you keep us in your prayers! She is waiting for the insurance to decide where she will get physical therapy!

To all our friends in the land of Blog.

I have not had my computer on until this morning. The reason is my wife had a CVA (Cardio Vascular Event), to those of us who do not speak Medical my wife had a stroke last Friday. She was in the hospital until Thursday. The stroke was on her left side, she had no facial or speech problems. At the onset there was loss of movement to her left arm and leg. She has recovered a great range of motion to her left arm. She still has some problem moving her left leg. But we have seen an improvement; she can move her toes, ankle and knee. She still has some general overall weakness and balance problems. We are believing that with the touch of God and a little help from physical therapy she will recover completely.

The Clarks would ask your prayers for her complete healing.

Thank you for your prayers.
