With prune juice in hand!!

Happy New year to one and all !!

Education dollars at work (?)

The two students each received $50,000, and two family members who filed the suits on their behalf received $25,000 apiece ....
Title VI prohibits allowing a racially hostile educational environment in schools and programs receiving federal financial assistance and provides for a private cause of action for violations....

Both students were African-American, and so was most of the elementary school's student body, according to [the students' lawyer, Lawrence C.] Kobrovsky....

[The younger student] claimed she suffered emotional trauma because she was subjected to racial and sexual slurs at ... elementary school ... Despite complaints, school administrative staff and district officials allowed the abuse to "escalate to the point where [she] was physically threatened, assaulted and battered," the suit alleged.

"You have a culture where to act like you want to do well in school is considered acting white. And that is part of why we're saying that it was racial, even though the students were all of the same race because they weren't acting how the others thought they should be acting as members of that race," Kobrovsky said....

Two black students attending a mostly black school complain of being harassed for "acting white" and sue under the anti-discrimination code?

Next up: Suing whites for "acting black."

Need something else to worry about?

MOSCOW -
Russia’s space chief said Wednesday that a spacecraft may be dispatched to shift an asteroid's course and reduce the chances of Earth impact, even though U.S. experts say such a scenario is unlikely.

Anatoly Perminov, the head of Russia's Federal Space Agency, told Golos Rossii (Voice of Russia) radio that officials would hold a meeting soon to assess a mission to the asteroid Apophis. He said his agency might eventually invite NASA, the European Space Agency, the Chinese space agency and others to join the project.

When the 270-meter (885-foot) asteroid was first discovered in 2004, astronomers estimated its chances of smashing into Earth in its first flyby, in 2029, at 1 in 37

Protest of Oslow ?

Makes my heart hurt!!

RIO DE JANEIRO —
A 2-year-old boy with more than 40 sewing needles stuck in him is being airlifted to another hospital in northeastern Brazil because two of the needles are close to his heart, an official said Thursday.
A police official, meanwhile, told The Associated Press the boy's stepfather had been arrested, that he had confessed to sticking the needles into the boy with the help of a woman and that authorities were investigating whether black magic was involved.

New year commin are you ready?

This time of year we list or call as the closing of one year and the opening of a new year. New paths, new feelings, new oportunities, old problems in a new setting. So much will be new and changed. Why? For one point we will all have moved little by little down the path of life. Some sunny days, so partly sunny days, some cloudy days and then some days of an all out down right down pour! Yet, there is one thing that has not nor will not change. Because He stands both in eternity and by my side.

Just my thought as we prepare to start 2010;

A song that is the menaing of Christmas! (3)

Without reluctance,
Flesh and blood His substance,
He took the form of man,
Revealed the hidden plan,
O glorious myst’ry
Sacrifice of Calv’ry,
And now I know Thou art the great “I Am.”

A song that is the menaing of Christmas! (2)

What condescension,
Bringing us redemption;
That in the dead of night,
Not one faint hope in sight,
God, gracious, tender,
Laid aside His splendor,
Stooping to woo, to win, to save my soul.

This is one of my coming fears.

Constitutional Contempt

"At Speaker Nancy Pelosi's Oct. 29th press conference, a CNS News reporter asked, "Madam Speaker, where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to enact an individual health insurance mandate?" Speaker Pelosi responded, "Are you serious? Are you serious?" The reporter said, "Yes, yes, I am." Not responding further, Pelosi shook her head and took a question from another reporter. Later on, Pelosi's press spokesman Nadeam Elshami told CNSNews.com about its question regarding constitutional authority mandating that individual Americans buy health insurance. "You can put this on the record. That is not a serious question. That is not a serious question."

Thanksgiving (1)

We are starting the week leading to Thanksgiving Day. A day on / in which we give thanks for what we have today, what we had in our yesterdays and what we are looking forward to. During other times I would tell you of all my toys, here and at this time it is not about toys but those people who have touched my life!
Almost sixty (60) years ago a teenage boy came home one afternoon from football practice. I looked to the yard east of where I lived and in that yard were Gill Stormont, Cecil Tingly, Dallas Medford and I.H. Terry. These men were building an aluminum boat. I thank the Lord for using the right bait at the right time to forever change the life of that teenage boy.

From a child!

PALM SUNDAY :
IT WAS PALM SUNDAY AND, BECAUSE OF A SORE THROAT, FIVE-YEAR-OLD JOHNNY STAYED HOME FROM CHURCH WITH A SITTER. WHEN THE FAMILY RETURNED HOME, THEY WERE CARRYING SEVERAL PALM BRANCHES . THE BOY ASKED WHAT THEY WERE FOR. "PEOPLE HELD THEM OVER JESUS' HEAD AS HE WALKED BY."
"WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT," THE BOY FUMED, "THE ONE SUNDAY I DON'T GO, HE SHOWS UP!"

CHILDREN'S SERMON:
ONE EASTER SUNDAY MORNING AS THE MINISTER WAS PREACHING THE CHILDREN'S SERMON, HE REACHED INTO HIS BAG OF PROPS AND PULLED OUT AN EGG. HE POINTED AT THE EGG AND ASKED THE CHILDREN, "WHAT'S IN HERE?" "I KNOW!" A LITTLE BOY EXCLAIMED. "PANTYHOSE!! "

FIRST TIME USHERS ! :
A LITTLE BOY IN CHURCH FOR THE FIRST TIME WATCHED AS THE USHERS PASSED AROUND THE OFFERING PLATES.
WHEN THEY CAME NEAR HIS PEW, THE BOY SAID LOUDLY, "DON'T PAY FOR ME DADDY. I'M UNDER FIVE."

Smile !

CLIMB THE WALLS :
"OH, I SURE AM HAPPY TO SEE YOU," THE LITTLE BOY SAID TO HIS GRANDMOTHER ON HIS MOTHER'S SIDE. "NOW MAYBE DADDY WILL DO THE TRICK HE HAS BEEN PROMISING US.."
THE GRANDMOTHER WAS CURIOUS. "WHAT TRICK IS THAT?" SHE ASKED.
"I HEARD HIM TELL MOMMY THAT HE WOULD CLIMB THE WALLS IF YOU CAME TO VISIT," THE LITTLE BOY ANSWERED.

THE WATER PISTOL:
WHEN MY THREE-YEAR-OLD SON OPENED THE BIRTHDAY GIFT FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER, HE DISCOVERED A WATER PISTOL.. HE SQUEALED WITH DELIGHT AND HEADED FOR THE NEAREST SINK.
I WAS NOT SO PLEASED.. I TURNED TO MOM AND SAID, "I'M SURPRISED AT YOU. DON'T YOU REMEMBER HOW WE USED TO DRIVE YOU CRAZY WITH WATER GUNS?"
MOM SMILED AND THEN REPLIED... "I REMEMBER!!"

GRANDMA'S AGE :

LITTLE JOHNNY ASKED HIS GRANDMA! HOW OLD SHE WAS.
GRANDMA ANSWERED, "39 AND HOLDING.."
JOHNNY THOUGHT FOR A MOMENT, AND THEN SAID, "AND HOW OLD WOULD YOU BE IF YOU LET GO?"

Ann Colter & Foot Hood.

"The massacre at Fort Hood last week is the perfect apotheosis of the liberal victimology described in my book "Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and Their Assault on America."

According to witnesses, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan entered a medical facility at Fort Hood, prayed briefly, then shouted "Allahu akbar" before he began gunning down American troops. Now I don't know which to be more afraid of: Muslims or government-run health care systems."

The White House and Fox.

"One Democratic strategist said that shortly after an appearance on Fox, he got a phone call from a White House official telling him not to be a guest on the show again. The call had an intimidating tone, he said.

The message was, " 'We better not see you on again,' " said the strategist, who spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to run afoul of the White House. An implicit suggestion, he said, was that "clients might stop using you if you continue."

Oh the mask that are worn

Last week in Sis. Hopper’s blog there was a reference to a “False Face.” There was an assotied comment which, did the wrong thing, it got me to thinking. The first word that came to me was CHARLATAN, so here is where it took me. Oh, my source is Merriam Webster – on – line. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/charlatan

Main Entry: char•la•tan
Pronunciation: \ˈshär-lə-tən\
Function: noun
Etymology: Italian ciarlatano, alteration of cerretano, literally, inhabitant of Cerreto, from Cerreto, Italy
Date: 1618
1 : QUACK 2
2 : one making usually showy pretenses to knowledge or ability : FRAUD, FAKER

Main Entry: fraud
Pronunciation: \ˈfrȯd\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English fraude, from Anglo-French, from Latin fraud-, fraus
Date: 14th century
1 a : DECEIT, TRICKERY; specifically : intentional perversion of truth in order to induce another to part with something of value or to surrender a legal right b : an act of deceiving or misrepresenting : TRICK
2 a : a person who is not what he or she pretends to be : IMPOSTOR; also : one who defrauds : CHEAT b : one that is not what it seems or is represented to be
synonyms see DECEPTION, IMPOSTURE

Main Entry: fake
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): faked; fak•ing
Date: 1851
transitive verb 1 : to alter, manipulate, or treat so as to give a spuriously genuine appearance to : DOCTOR
2 : COUNTERFEIT, SIMULATE, CONCOCT
3 : to deceive (an opponent) in a sports contest by means of a fake
4 : IMPROVISE, AD-LIB intransitive verb 1 : to engage in faking something : PRETEND —sometimes used with it
2 : to give a fake to an opponent

One making usually showy pretenses to knowledge or ability
A person who is not what he or she pretends to be
To alter, manipulate, or treat so as to give a spuriously genuine appearance to
You can see that a person who deals with or in being a charlatan changes the appearance to appear one of knowledge and understanding for self?
Then we can or have seen the fraud. This is a person who puts on this mask to appear as something different. You can take your choice as to what their goal is by trying to fake someone into or out of whatever!
How about that person who dawns the mask of a fake! These are those who seem to alter or manipulate a subject, a point of reference or a set of guidelines. What they claim to be and what they are for real will come to light, things just don’t come together. Oh they can appear so real, true, authentic, and pious. Yet in time they are found to be wanting.

Why do people ware mask?
Personal opinion, these people desire to lead you or I into what and wherever so that they will have a form of momentary control.

Some Good News!

Biggest news you’ve never heard:
Earth isn’t warming

How do you reconcile the early snow in Minneapolis, ski resorts already opening in Nevada, and that August chill in North Dakota with expert warnings about a warming climate?
You don’t. Why? The Earth isn’t warming right now, is why. It may even be cooling down somewhat.
Five major climate centers around the world agree that average global temperatures have not risen in the past 11 years, according to the BBC. In fact, in eight of those years, global average temperatures dipped a tad.
Yes, there have been several record heat spikes during that time period. The Southern Hemisphere this summer saw the highest land and water temperatures ever recorded, for instance. But overall? Steady as she goes.
Reasons cited range from a slightly cooling Pacific — a major global heat trap — as well as renewed questions about the sun’s role in warming (about which there is much debate). Also, it’s possible, some say, that warming itself causes CO2 levels — which are associated with warming — instead of the other way around.

OK, but a seed to or for what?
Would you allow yourself for a few fleeting moments to think about seeds!

These two pictures of seeds have a vast differance.
Can you persive me point?
You can see a very deep differance in these two types of seeds!
One can and is carried about with just a gentail breeze. It will land a do what seeds do, just on a breeze.
The other seed is far to heavy for a gentail breeze.
So it will require time to prep the ground, water and then YOU
must carry it to the field, which you perpered.
Then to cast it where you hope for it to fall and grow.
Its just a seed!
Who cares?

A Seagull

One lone seagull standing in the sand, I looked at him / her that morning and was interested in the three things which I saw. It is very intriguing to me that all we really see is the reflection of light on an object. Think about that for just a moment! If there was NO light source how could we see or perceive anything around us? Would we even have a need for eyes? That morning I saw three parts to or of the seagull. First his shadow, second the seagull its self, last a reflection in the sand. I have pondered this picture several times before I put on my blog and these are my thoughts about what I saw.
The shadow is not even a good representation of the gull. No color, no real exact detail, you can’t tell where the wings, eyes or beak start and end. Just a very loose outline of what is there.

The reflection is a lot better. We can see some of the color, we can tell things about the wings, the eyes and the beak. Yet it has a little more detail of the seagull than the shadow.
Last is the real thing! All the real colors, we can easily see the eyes, the beak and the wings. The colors are so much brighter and easier to see. There is an abundance of detail for us to see and appreciate.
In my day to day life which of these three do I portray the most?

Just my thought as I pass this way today.

The cross in the Mojave

At one point late in the arguments in Salazar v. Buono, American Civil Liberties Union lawyer Peter Eliasberg, in challenging the placement of the cross on public land, suggested the cross honored "just Christians." Justice Antonin Scalia, who is Catholic, angrily interjected, "The cross doesn't honor non-Christians who fought in the war?" He added, "I assume it is erected in honor of all of the war dead. The cross is the most common symbol of the resting place of the dead."
To which Eliasberg replied, "The cross is the most common symbol of the resting place of Christians. I have been in Jewish cemeteries. There is never a cross on a tombstone of a Jew."
Scalia's quick retort was, "I don't think you can leap from that to the conclusion that the only war dead that cross honors are the Christian war dead. I think that's an outrageous conclusion."
One lawyer in the audience said that when Scalia asserted that the cross was the most common symbol of a resting place, "You could audibly hear people breathing in." Jeffrey Pasek of
Cozen O'Connor, who authored a brief against the constitutionality of the cross for the Jewish Social Policy Action Network, added, "A lot of people were surprised at the insensitivity of that comment."

Thank you Judge Scalia!

"Freedom"

The following was copied from the following site:

http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/welcome.html

· Freedom is a basic human right recognized by the United Nations and international treaties, and is the heart of social justice.
· Freedom is an engine of economic and human development, and scientific and technological advancement.
· Freedom ameliorates the problem of mass poverty.
· Free people do not suffer from and never have had famines, and by theory, should not. Freedom is therefore a solution to hunger and famine.
· Free people have the least internal violence, turmoil, and political instability.
· Free people have virtually no government genocide and mass murder, and for good theoretical reasons. Freedom is therefore a solution to genocide and mass murder; the only practical means of making sure that "Never again"
· Free people do not make war on each other, and the greater the freedom within two nations, the less violence between them.
· Freedom is a method of nonviolence--the most peaceful nations are those whose people are free.

What is really important today?

A short story from the tragic sinking of that great ocean liner the Titanic, a lady had a seat in one of the life boats. She begged to be allowed to return to her stateroom, she was given three minutes. As she entered her stateroom, she walked right passed the jewels laying on her nightstand and reached into a box to acquire three oranges and returned to her place in the life boat.

How many times, in my short life, when there has been an alteration of a situation or its surroundings has had such a dynamic effect on my outlook as to what is important?

Seek Knock Ask

We were privileged to have Bro. Doug Wright preach for our congregation last night. His text was, knock and it shall be opened, seek and you will find, ask and it shall be given. As Bro Wright was preaching, I could not help me think if this old man almost fifty, yes I said 50, years ago. How that desire / drive to knock, seek and ask was so strong in me to receive the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. The great desire that I had to find a better style of live than the one I was living.

Thank you JESUS for the drive that was placed in me to seek, knock and ask for the blessing of You in my live.

Just my thought this afternoon:
Mervi

What has your attention today?

Can you remember the now-famous Flight 401 from New York to Miami?

As the flight approached Miami Airport the light that was to show that the landing gear we properly deployed did not come on. Without this light the flight crew could not be assured that the landing gear was properly down. As the aircraft made a long slow loop over the swamp, numerous parts of the fight crew made valiant efforts to remove the $0.75 blub to replace it. As the flight grew belabored this small light, no one noticed that the craft was looping lower and lower, closer and closer to the murky swamp. We all can remember the tragic outcome. Several lost their lives, many were badly hurt.

Moral;
Make sure that we are paying proper attention to the important things. Far too many times we let the less significant things divert our attention.

Judgment vs. Judgmentalism

I found the following words of Call Thomas such a provoking thought.

"Opinion columnists, like the rest of humanity, walk a fine line between judgment (holding people accountable to a standard we did not create) and judgmentalness (thinking ourselves morally superior because we haven't committed the acts of others)."

I chose to add a little to Mr. Thomas words this morning; can we hold people accountable to a standard we did not create, that being the standard from Holy Write?

"That many on the Left continue to dance on the grave of Richard Nixon and revile George W. Bush does not give the Right permission to engage in eye for an eye behavior. Many on the Right invoke the name of Jesus on Sunday and tear down a politician whose policies they don't like the rest of the week. Tearing down policy is fine, but diminishing the value of a fellow human simply because you don't like his politics (or his personal behavior) is not a good strategy for persuading him to change either. It also raises the level of invective, which is injurious not only to our politics but to the one contributing the invective."

I will not comment on the second quote from Mr. Thomas article.

California Schools ?

This is lifted from an article by George Will.

"The education code, by which state legislators micromanage California's thousands of schools at the behest of teachers unions, is, Poizner says, 2,000 pages "and growing rapidly." He is disgusted that more than half of the 600,000 employees in primary and secondary education are not in classrooms. The most "telling statistic," he says, is that in Los Angeles (where one in three school dollars goes to teachers' pensions) 25 percent of public school teachers send their children to private schools."

What has gone wrong or what is going wrong with the schools in California?
Mr. Will's has provided us with fodder for thought!

A losing star.

"Astronomers have found what appears to be a gigantic suicidal planet.
The odd, fiery planet is so close to its star and so large that it is triggering tremendous plasma tides on the star. Those powerful tides are in turn warping the planet's zippy less-than-a-day orbit around its star.
The result: an ever-closer tango of death, with the planet eventually spiraling into the star."

This my thought this morning as I read this story. How many good, bad or indifferent people, have you watched do a, Tango of death, as they seem to boob and sway closer and closer to that which will end in a fiery death?

Just a thought as I pass through this day.

Gene Jenkins a friend.

Today is a sad day for me. Yesterday morning my son called to let me know that a very dear and old friend had gone to be in the presents of his Lord. Gene Jenkins was a great man to me. He had a very positive affect not only in my life but the life of my two sons. Gene was a very quiet man, a man of deep conviction and purpose. From working in a small grocery store to a large grocery store, to teaching school, to teaching high school and even to keeping both the school and church yards manicured. Gene was always Gene a very warm greeting, big smile along with a good hand shake. Gene, this grouchy old man will miss you beyond words! I am going to strive just a little more to do my best to see that smile and feel that hand shake in that city.

May the peace which goes beyond all understanding bring that deep peace to each and every member of his family! I ask for the same peace which touched myself a little over eighteen years ago be with each of you.

One more for the Camp Meeting.

Camp meeting, oh how I enjoyed this year. The teaching and the preaching were wonderful, even to the point of this old hard shell buying the morning teaching tapes. The wonderful time spent in fellowshipping old friends, looking at, talking about and buying a few books, playing with babies of friends and family. The best part of all, outside of the great tent, was without a doubt time spent over a plate of good food, coffee or iced tea and please don’t forget the pie. I was so happy to see friends who were still with the UPCI, which is not the complete bride of Christ. These friends are like so many others who have had their actions interpreted in one way when they meant the other. The old song says, “His truth is marching on,” Keep on marching truth, and lead the way, may I ever follow truth!!

The Scotland bomber?

"Scotland leader's excuse for freeing bomber, who is terminally ill, is compassion. That, regrettably, was a gift al-Megrahi's victims didn't receive two decades ago."

Lifted from the Chicago Times.

Did the Scotland courts do right?

What kind of car?

Hay mom look a steam car!!

Yes, according to an article I just read. The British have a steam powered car at China Lake or Roger’s dry lake bad. Their goal is a new steam powered speed record the goal is 130 mph. The current record for this type of powered car is, “to surpass the record of 127.6 mph set by Fred Marriott in 1906.”

One more on health care.

"All the problems with the American health care system come from government intervention, so naturally the Democrats' idea for fixing it is more government intervention. This is like trying to sober up by having another drink.

The reason seeing a doctor is already more like going to the DMV, and less like going to the Apple "Genius Bar," is that the government decided health care was too important to be left to the free market.

We already have near-universal health coverage in the form of Medicare, Medicaid, veterans' hospitals, emergency rooms and tax-deductible employer-provided health care -- all government creations.

So now, everyone expects doctors to be free. People who pay $200 for a haircut are indignant if it costs more than a $20 co-pay to see a doctor."

Enough, I will stop here should you desire to read the complete text from which these comments were taken. You may go to Ann Coulter’s web site at, http://www.anncoulter.com/

July 4 at Sis Emerson's mothers

Minorities

We need to show more sympathy for these people.

* They travel miles in the heat.

* They risk their lives crossing a border.

* They don't get paid enough wages.

* They do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do.

* They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language.

* They rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day ~ every day.

I'm not talking about illegal Mexicans ~ I'm talking about our troops! Doesn't it seem strange that many Democrats and Republicans are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegal's, but don't support our troops, and are even threatening to de-fund them?

? Stupid ?

I, as a panel of one, have become a little frustrated by this comment by the leader of these United States. The use of the one word stupid, "a: slow of mind : obtuse b: given to unintelligent decisions or acts : acting in an unintelligent or careless manner c: lacking intelligence or reason : brutish," from http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/stupid. Dose the police officer in question fit or come under any of these definitions of the word used? This officer teaches his collages on the subject of racial profiling and how to avoid it.
President Obama, I am of the opinion that you should either apologies to the offices or just stop making comments with the hope that something other would replace it in the news of the day. I feel that there are many markings of a situation which can go beyond what should be needed to bring this question to an end.
I would like to direct a few comments to the man who was arrested. When asked to so some ID. Why did you feel it was unreasonable? At what point did you feel it necessary to lift your voice to the offices? Sir, you being of a much greater level of education that those around you, yet you lowered yourself to such a degree?

Dinner on the river.

Neighnor?

“Who is my neighbor?” He spoke these condescending words with an artificial humility, and a semi condescension. This quote, Teacher of the law,” responded as he was asked a question by Jesus.
Surely not the tax man!
You can not mean that lady of the night?
You know that I would not touch a leaper?
A dirty faced child of questionable linage?
You don’t intend for me to be a neighbor to those of a varied ethnic background?

I have no question that these and other examples raced thought his mind as Jesus began to relay His story.

Department of Energy ?

Absolutely the funniest joke ever...ON US!
Let it sink in.
Quietly we go like sheep to slaughter.
Does anybody out there have any memory of the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY... during the Carter Administration?
Anybody?
Anything?
No?
Didn't think so!
Bottom line...we've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency... the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember.
Ready?
It was very simple... and at the time everybody thought it very appropriate....
The "Department of Energy" was instituted on 8-04-1977 TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE
ON FOREIGN OIL.
Hey, pretty efficient, huh?
AND NOW IT'S 2009, 32 YEARS LATER ... AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS NECESSARY DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR IT HAS 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES
AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES

AND LOOK AT THE JOB IT HAS DONE!
THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY
'WHAT WAS I THINKING?'

Ah, yes, good old bureaucracy....
And NOW, we are going to turn the Banking System, Health Care & the Auto Industry over to government?
May God Help Us !

Just something to think about as we gas up our cars for the weekend!

This came to me from a frends e-mail.
