A definition of working together!

I was reading in a book last night about Jimmy Durante. some will no idea who he was. He was a great comedian during the 40's and 50's. He was asked by the CSO to perform at a hospital. His was response was that he would do it but because of a previous commitment he could only stay a few minutes. They accepted and he went on stag for five minutes, tuned into ten, the ten to fifteen and finally after thirty minutes he walked off stage. They asked him, “Jim you said you could only stay a few minutes but you gave a full thirty minute show why? Well if you will look in the very front row there are two soldiers one missing his right arm and the other his left. Man you should see them clap.” Was Mr. Durentie’s response.

It’s called team work!

Great post. Reading this I began to think, sometimes even with our imperfections, disabilities or handicaps we can still make a significant difference when we work together.

Brings the scripture to mind "Where two or three are gathered together in my name" Yes, teamwork is what it is all about. It is also known as UNITY!

Thank you to both Tredway Tales and Jolene for your kind comments.

If one fall down and there is no one there to help him how will or can he get up.

"How can two walk together except they agree?"

Jolene, if you will take the time to read that setting of scripture, you will find that Jesus is teaching on removing someone who has commite sin from the fellowship of the church.

Teamwork. So much can be said about it. I'll go with Sis Jolene - also known as UNITY!

I believe that you may have missed a textual point, Luke 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midest of them.” From verse 19 Jesus is speaking about asking and it shall be done. Yes, father up in the chapter Jesus is speaking of those who will not hear a brother. If your brother trespass go to him, take one or two as a witness then tell the church body. But in verses 19 & 29 Jesus is speaking of the unity of coming to gather to ask of Him.

Your first text, can two walk together is from the Prophet Amos.

Keep coming back we like to hear from you.

Your definition of teamwork was presented in an unusual manner but it was an excellent presentation because it jars our normal thinking.

The entire chapter of Luke 18 deals with forgivness. Jesus is teaching the desciples how to handel somone who will not forgive. Thus the statement "If any two agree...it shall be done".
"How readest thou??"

Great story. Thank you for sharing it with us. It did two things for me: made me grateful for my intact body, and certain underscores the principle of team work.
