Question

I would ask those who stop by to ponder a question for the day.

Is there a difference between a misquotation and a lie?

Your comments please.

I would have to say that there is a difference. A misquotation can be a mistake, which we are all prone to, but a lie is intentional. What do you think?

I would have to partially agree with SJMcDaniel. I believe that a misquotation for the purpose of misleading is a lie. An unintentional misquote is a an honest mistake. Too many times people use a "oops, I misquoted" as an easy way out of lying. Just my thoughts.
