I too agree this is somewhat over the top, but I also feel like their is definitly alot of gray area concerning Mr. Obama.
It is definitely over the top. We as Americans, and more particularly as Christians, are allowing ourselves to get caught up in the ugliness that lies about us. And whether we agree or disagree with the Obamas, we owe it to ourselves to not stoop to the level that the NY Times has taken.
