The following comments are those I lifted form the On Line Los Angles today.
Fertility experts have raised concerns about the number of embryos implanted and whether the procedure was within medical guidelines."I cannot see circumstances where any reasonable physician would transfer [so many] embryos into a woman under the age of 35 under any circumstance," said Arthur Wisot, a fertility doctor in Redondo Beach and the author of "Conceptions and Misconceptions.
Doctors probably could not deny treatment to a woman simply because she already has children, he said. However, he added, they should have taken steps to make sure she did not have so many babies at once."I certainly think you can talk to her about it if you feel like she's making a decision that's not in her best interest or the interest of her children," Wisot said. "You can send her for psychological evaluation, but I honestly don't know if you can say, 'No, I won't take care of you because you have too many children.' "
She graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 2006 with a bachelor of science degree in child and adolescent development, school officials said. She returned to pursue a master's in counseling, but last attended in the spring of 2008.By juggling school and six children, Frickert said, Nadya Suleman proved to be "a lot more capable than the average person in handling stress."She and her children live with her mother in a 1,550-square-foot home in Whittier, and her father has been working in Iraq as a translator to help support the family.In 2008, Angela Suleman filed for bankruptcy, claiming nearly $1 million in liabilities mostly due to a bad housing investment, her bankruptcy attorney said. Suleman said Friday that she had withdrawn the filing and paid her debts.
Yes, I am from the male portion of the species. I do not perceive child birth in the same light as the female part of the species. Still to have eight children all the same physical age will be trying to all concerned, to say the least. The Medical field leads us to be concerned if or how these little ones will develop mentally and emotional?

The octuplet’?
Did I miss something?
Where did I stop grasping?
What is incorrect with this situation?
I really feel out of touch this morning. I have no drought that most everyone has followed the birth of these eight babies. What a medical miracle. Man! Eight small bundles of life brought to completion by one mother. All those doctors, nurses and the others required for such a large number of births all at one time.
Now wait a minute! She is the mother of six (6) other children?? This mother now has a total of fourteen children? They all live with her parents? The father, they are guessing, is working in Iraq? This is the product or insemination?
OK OK I can handle most of this. My real question is fourteen

He that cannot forgive others,
brakes the bridge
over which he must past himself;

Do we have . . . ?
Should you need to give joy?
You must have that joy.
If you desire to pass along some peace?
You first need to have peace within.
Is there a time for calm?
Then a calm within is needed.
To bestow love to another?
Then you must have love.

Mr. Limbaugh ? A problem ?
"I was disappointed that President Obama even acknowledged the existence of Rush Limbaugh in his meeting with Congressional leaders on Friday, although the statement he made was about as controversial as Norway: "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done." This, after Limbaugh said he was rooting for Obama to fail, which was a big surprise.
El Rushbo's bad taste is being excoriated by the smarter conservative commenters like William Bennett, which is appropriate because Limbaugh is their problem: he has become an embarrassing anachronism, like a comedian still doing Dukakis jokes. His brand of entertainment went out with the crash; his ditto-heads are losing their jobs. His crapulous invective only has the power to stigmatize his allies now. So why give him oxygen? This is that rarest of moments: Obama showing a smidgeon of public pique. He should save it for opponents who remain relevant."
I am of the opinion that both Mr. Kline and President Obama have misjudged Mr. Limbaugh. It is a little confusing to self, when an entertainer is perceived to have such significance.

? Stimulus Package (spending) ?
I lifted this information on Mr. Obama’s stimulus package this morning. These numbers caused my some very deep questions.
1) The $825 billion bill would dump $6,700 of new debt per household into the laps of our children and grandchildren. (Do I really want my grandchildren and possibly my great-grandchildren paying this debt?)
2) Under the stimulus, new groups of children and adults would be eligible for Medicaid, the welfare program for the poor, and free family planning services. These expansions are on top of spending $89 billion to bailout out failing state Medicaid programs. (New groups? When I see all the varied groups who are eligible now. Do we really need more? Where will they come from?)
3) President Obama anticipates that spending over $800 billion will create 3.7 million new jobs. That means each job will cost more than $200,000, which is roughly equivalent to 5 times what the average American worker earns! (I am very sorry, could or would someone try to make some reason of these numbers for me?)
Also in Congress this week is the SCHIP bill that would essentially allow states to cover children of any income level, and even some adults and immigrants. This bill and the Medicaid expansions found in the economic stimulus package are moving the country closer to the tipping point where government will control more health care spending than the private sector, giving individuals and families less freedom over their personal health care decisions. (Cover children of any income level, and even some adults and immigrants. Are they any more that are not now covered? What areas have we already missed?)

Mr. President, I think you missed a ball?
According to TSO who was at the “Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball”, this newly sworn-in President for the first time in 56 years blew off the ball (that’s 14 Inaugurations).
Some background on the ball;
The American Legion sponsors the ball, which recognizes recipients of Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military award. It started in 1953 for President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s first inauguration.
Event co-sponsors include 13 other veterans service organizations, among them the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
So where was our new President instead of honoring Medal of Honor recipients who by some miracle are still alive? According to Huffington Post, this was his schedule for Inaugural celebrations;

Good words to start with.
Notes to Obama: Maya Angelou
I am a poet. What I'm going to say to you now, however, is not a poem, it doesn't pretend to be. These are ruminations or reflections upon the advent of President Barack Obama.
We needed him. We the race needed him. We the American people, we needed him.
Banks, automobile companies, insurance companies needed him. The stock market in Japan and Germany, in France and Britain, in China, in New York City needed him.
And out of that great need, I believe he came. Barack Obama, Senator Barack Obama came.
Intelligent, facing forward, including everyone, excluding no-one. He came with some charm - not enough to make him seem glib.
But what he did is he brought something we cannot live without, and that is hope. He brought the possibility that we might really see ourselves as we really are. A great country.
I believe in the secret part of every heart of an American is the desire to belong to a great country.
I think that President-elect Barack Obama offers us the chance to have a great president with whom we can identify.
Not as a black person, not even as a male, but really as an American citizen who will speak for the voiceless, who will not forget the poor black or the poor white, who will remember the out-of-work Asian and the dislocated Spanish-speaking person.
I found this in the New York Times this morning. Maya Angelo expresses both my thoughts and feelings this morning.

Change.
Today is the Birthday of a mover and shaker in our history. Even though the pigmentation to Mr. King’s skin was not of the proper gradation he brought about movement toward a better land. Mr. King changed many things in our history. Today we, without regard to the gradation of your skin, are the receptions of these changes.
Today we, as a nation bid farewell to one President and prepare to bid hello to a new one. The ever moving changing of the guard at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier will be presented in the changing of the guard of our Nation. I am looking forward not backward as this change takes place. YES! The new leader of our Nation is being faced with a multiplicity of opportunities to lead, with those same opportunities to fail.
Be GREAT Mr. President for the simple reason if you are great than we as a nation shall follow you and be great also.
May God Bless President Obama as he steps into the office of The President of These United States!

Pictures anyone?
I was sitting here this morning remembering a blog some months back about having a waitress take some group pictures and the disaster it came out to be. Several summers back Virginia and I were on the pier at Pismo. My manner is that if I see people taking pictures of others I will offer to take pictures of them as a part of the group. Well, out on the end of the pier there was a group of about ten to fifteen Orientals all taking pictures. I approached one gentleman and motioned to take a picture. He looked at me, looked at the camera, said something to his fellow travelers and handed me the camera. I don’t remember how many pictures I took of that group. They wanted some take out over the water, with Pismo behind them, they aligned in this order then in that order then the original gentleman walked over bowed slightly, which I returned , only a little deeper to show respect to him. The next thing Virginia and I knew we were with this part of the group picture, that part of the group picture, over here picture, over there picture and with the good old America sign of thanks and good luck a thumbs up from several of the men. Virginia looked at me and said, “What was that all about?” “Well someday our picture may be all over China as passing secrets from the Chinese,” she almost lost it.
The cost of doing a little good many times is very small.
Just something to think about as we pass this way;

Blanket of white.
I was looking for a winter’s picture when I came across this one. I just sat and stared at it. The memories of being a, “little dinky dude,” in Nebraska and Iowa just would not stop. Those wonderful mornings after a fresh new snow, the world was covered in undaunted white as far as one could see. No foot prints. No trail to follow, just one gigantic blanket of white. Sometimes three to four feet deep and sometimes more, you could see the little wisp of white as that North wind blew across the surface of the snow. So cold that even with several layers of clothing you still did not want to play outside very long. Get wet? That snow was just like powder it just fell off of you when you were brushed with a broom. Then as the day would ware on, people moved about this would bring an end to the enduring beauty of that blanket of white.
Several years ago I had to fly from LAX into Chicago. The weather was great in California, and then as soon as we flew over the Rocky Mountains all you could see was white and that was from 30,000 plus feet. One black strip was cut across that great blanket. That was it once in a while you would see a city with no sign of movement. The beauty of the huge white covering extending as far as you could see. Just the simple beauty of our God.
Just a beautful sight as I pass this way;

The New Year?
Here we sit, fourteen days into a new year.
Where have we started to make changes, in me?
You know I would like to change something’s
both about Mervi and around Mervi.
Yet, here I sit!
NO, now don’t get me ALL wrong
I have started to make some of my planed changes,
just others are, well I think you would say,
“On the back burner.”
The one thing I am trying to this New Year
is to squeeze from each hour
the best I can get out of it.
How are you doing?

Who has control of the history we read?
Carl Marx, taught that he who writes history,
controls the future.
Humanist and the socialist movement
in the world are very busy revising history
to fit their agenda.
Revisionist historians are well and alive in the halls of academia.

Everything came out great!
To all our friends in the land of Blog, thank you so very much for your prayers. WE arrived in Frisco on Sunday afternoon, because my perop appointment was for 6:30 Monday morning. After taking care of all the perop paper work we spent some time at Pier 39 then to the Museum of Science close to the UC. Our surgery was at 7:30 the next morning; it took approximately five hours plus a little, never did find out how long that, “little,” was. They did NOT take the right kidney. Thank you Jesus! ! The cyst consisted of 850 to 860 mmils of cystic fluid, which was clear and Dr. Stoller saw not concern, yet he still had to send it and the skin of the cyst out to be biopsied. We were doing good enough that we were discharged Wednesday afternoon and arrived back in Strathmore about 8:30 that evening.
The only thing I turned on yesterday we the light over my recliner and there I stayed the majority of the day. I was weak and had some discomfort, and problems with my eyes not wanting to focus real well. We are up and feeling and doing better this morning.
I wish to express my deep thanks to all who called our name during your time of prayer and devotion;

A prayer request!
To all my friends in the land of Blog, I have a prayer request.
This coming Tuesday (the 5th) Virginia and I will be in the Urology center at UCSF. My body has been throwing off “large” Kidney cyst. These have all been on the right kidney and if you cut a two liter bottle in half, that is about the size of the cyst. This is the third one to be removed and Dr. Stoller is concerned that he may have to remove the kidney itself. I go in for surgery about 7:30 am, I say about because we all know how Medical time secludes run. I am asking your prayers for myself, Virginia and those in the operating theater.
When I get home I will post the outcome of this surgery for all our friends.
